I wrote an article regarding whether I should eat before a workout. Check it out here – “To Eat or Not To Eat – That is the Question” . Today was Day 3 of this experiment which consisted of sliced green apples and peanut butter.
This is a W-I-N-N-E-R!!!!! It was just the right amount of carb and protein. It kept me satiated and my stomach did not growl ONCE during my strength workout with my personal trainer. This pre-workout snack is definitely a keeper. It was also easy to put together. I want to try this next time with all raw creamy almond butter. Doesn’t that sound good? Let me keep this experiment going. I have a few more days.

Awesome – thank YOU Marla. I have to get some raw creamy almond butter. That would be DELECTABLE!

I usually have a brown rice cake with almond butter and a banana on it.

Now that right there sounds pretty tasty. Have they improved on the taste of the rice cakes?

I’ve actually used a slice of raisin bread and peanut butter as a pre workout snack. I actually felt good during my workouts and didn’t feel like I ate anything too heavy.

I’m a HUGE apple fan, but don’t have any nut butter around right now. Time to add it to the grocery list – great idea for pre workout 🙂

This was a typical snack when I was growing up. It does keep you full and it is great if you and your family are on a budget.
