My Buds, #Yurbuds, Earbuds

I’m no extreme athlete.  I am a typical working wife and mother of two trying to workout and stay healthy.  And gtting fine in the process is alright with me.    I enjoy listening to music to get my amped and pumped while I run or lift weights.  The more bump and bass the better.  My only pet peeve with earphones is the fact many are too big for my ear opening and they fall out immediately once I start sweating or moving around too much from cardio (i.e. running, jumping, skipping, etc.).  It is the most frustrating part of working out for me because I tend to adjust and readjust frequently during my workout which can not only be dangerous, distracts me from what I need to be focused on.

I heard about Yurbuds and saw them at Best Buy.  There were several styles of them ranging in price from $24.99 up to approximately $60.00.  It claims to not fall out during workouts and stay in place even when you begin to sweat.  My current earphones don’t stand a CHANCE when I start sweating.  It has some sort of twist and lock technology – sounds interesting.  After looking at the design – I am intrigued at how this technology works.  With the price differentials, I wanted to know the difference between them besides one box being thinner than the other.

Check out some of the features it touts:

ULTRA SOFT SILICONE – Ergonomically designed to avoid nerve rich areas of the ear. Made with flexible silicone, yurbuds are ultra soft and comfortable for hours on end.

Exceptional Sound Quality – Clinically proven acoustics for deeper, richer sound.

Performance Enhancing – Deliver consistent music, which is clinically proven to inspire longer, harder workouts.

Sweat & Water Resistance – Developed for training in any conditions. (Big plus to me!)

Ambient Noise Awareness – Designed to allow more ambient noise than most other earphones at the same volume levels.

Dry Mic -Water resistant 3 button control & microphone for controlling music and calls on the iPhone®, iPod®, and iPad®”.  Only available on Inspire Pro and Focus Pro.

Woven Cloth Cord – Tangled & torn cords are a thing of the past with our cloth coated wires.

After reading and rereading the box all I could see is some of the boxes clearly stated they were made to work with iPad, iPod and iPhone.  Now if I go with the $24.99 earbuds does that mean it would not work with my iPhone?  There is so much new technology out there it can be overwhelming to a fitness enthusiast like me.

So who has used these Yurbuds?  It says they were designed by athletes  – do they really work?  What is the difference between Inspire Pro and Focus Pro?  Inquiring minds want to know.  Leave a comment and share your insight!

I’m very interested in this myself. I’m another person who loves incorporating my music w/ workouts. I can’t do my powerwalks without it. I always put in 200% with my music as opposed to working out without it. Anyway, I was looking for an alternative to my earbuds and the stereo head phones so this should be very helpful Thanks for posting.

I have very small ears (openings, too) and have had the same problem for years (well, since the advent of ear phone that go in the ear!). I have been using Yurbuds for over 3 years now, and love them. They do wear out a little sooner than I would like for the price, but at least they aren’t falling out all the time!
If you have small ears, these are a must have!

Oh… I don’t have an iPhone, but I do use an iPod. Also, the silicone covers can come off the ear pieces and be put on your “Apple issued” accessory.

Thank you for your feedback Sherry. Are they comfortable? Do you know the difference between Inspire vs. Focus? I was perplexed in Best Buy today.

Inspire are earbud style and Focus are behind the ear style. If you saw a box that had both on it (like the one above) they are an older box of the Inspire Duro model. I hope this helps!

Forgot to say that I don’t know the difference between the Inspire Pro and Focus Pro, but I have always bought the $24.99 level Yurbuds and have been very pleased.

I just went to the Yurbuds website, which is where I have previously purchased my yurbuds. I looks like the company has grown significantly since my last purchase, as you can no longer order directly from them. The new options look pretty cool.
The ones that I have are like the plain “Inspire” version, only mine are all red.

They are very comfortable, and do not fall out, every. I do crossfit, cycle, and a little running and have never had them fall out, and my ears don’t ache after wearing them for a long period of time.

I have a FFFC member who also has small ears and she says, while she hasn’t tried these, these types typically hurt her ears. I think she may have tried some earbuds that are too big. Thank you for your insight and feedback. I am seriously looking at these. I have an iPhone 4S I am trying to get this to work with so wanted to know if the ones that do not explicitly state they work with 4S will still work with 4S.

    Hey Sherry,

I am biased because I work for the company, but I can tell you that they are truly the best earphones for working out! If you want any more information or clarification, please email us at [email protected]. I hope you enjoy which-ever earphones you end up with!

    Cheers, and Happy Listening,

    Dan@yurbuds

    Hey Dan!
I’m the one that already has them, and I agree that they are the best out there – especially if you have small ears! I used to by them directly from your website (my first pair were “Ironman” and I received 3 different silicone coverings for the earbuds). It was also from the time when you would take a picture of a pair of apple earbuds IN your ear so that the company could see how they fit and make a size for you that would fit your ear better 🙂 Looks like yurbuds have come a long way since then!

Sounds like I need a new pair to try all the new technology! Are there still different sizes?
