FFFC: Please introduce yourself to our readers (i.e. your name, occupation, hobbies, etc.).
VS: Hi I’m Veronica Spriggs. I began using my real name on the internet after some advice from a mentor of mine. Before that I was very commonly known as Vivarant. I still use the screen name as well because after almost 10 years it too is very much a part of me. I am a graphic designer by trade, photography enthusiast and Photoshop buff. I’ve even been published in Photoshop User Magazine. Oh and I guess I’m kind of into this fitness thing too!
FFFC: What sparked your weight-loss transformation journey?
VS: I was fat. No, fat doesn’t really describe it. I was HUGE. Anyone looking at me would say, “That girl needs to lose weight”. Not that that was any huge secret to me, I just couldn’t find the courage to get started.
Lots of things prompted to me to begin my weight-loss journey. But really it was the very morbid realization that if I didn’t change I very well could become one of those people who needs to be buried in custom made casket. You can read all about my why by downloading my From Fat Fit E-Zine.
FFFC: What was your beginning and current weight or measurements?
VS: Wow. My Beginning weight was 457. I don’t recall all of my measurements. Though I did take them I didn’t record them. One number I will never forget though is 75. That was the total inches around my hips.
Currently resting comfortably at 165. Chest 37”, Waist 33”, and hips 43”.
FFFC: How long did it take for your weight-loss transformation from beginning to end?
VS: I would say approximately 3 years. I’m not finished yet so it’s an ongoing process.
FFFC: What physical activities did you participate in during your journey?
VS: I started off with just a daily treadmill walk of 20 minutes. A very SLOW walk. Even that was enough to promote change. My workouts began to get more aggressive. I started doing Beachbody Workout Programs and that compelled me push harder.
It also accelerated my results. Once I began working out with Beachbody I went from losing 5 – 7 pounds per month to losing 8-12 pounds per month.
FFFC: How did your eating habits change?
VS: I went from eating all carbs, all the time and pretty much anything else I wanted to a low carb diet. I have eliminated flour, sugar and starch from diet.
FFFC: What do you typically eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
VS: I eat all manner of things. I’m a tad bit strange in that I’ll eat the same things until I get bored with it. Then I’ll opt for something different. I prepare 90 to 100 percent of my own meals as opposed to eating out.
Bacon and eggs are a staple in the mornings. Anything goes for lunch or dinner but usually it’s left-overs as I cook in large quantities. This way I always have something healthful and low carb approved.
FFFC: What do you do now to maintain your physique?
VS: In the word of the great LMFAO “I work out!” and of course I eat right. The two go hand in hand.
FFFC: How did you develop and sustain the willpower to avoid the bad stuff (i.e. junk food, bad drinks, lack of activity, etc.)?
VS: Oddly enough when I decided to go low carb I went cold turkey. Not sure how or why but something just clicked and I never looked back. While on low carb to satisfy my sweet tooth I’ve learned to make low carb desserts.
FFFC: What advice do you have for someone starting out on their weight-loss journey but unsure of how to begin?
VS: Where ever you start there. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Don’t waist time gathering information. Don’t tell yourself you’ll do it “when”. Do it now.

FFFC: What do you think is the biggest misconception about this journey?
VS: There are two really.
1. It can’t be done.
2. It needs to be done quickly
The belief that we can’t get the pounds off is the biggest hindrance to ever getting started at all. Never starting because it’s going to take too long is just backwards thinking.
FFFC: Do you have any fitness idols? Who are they?
VS: I am a fan of Shaun T and Dan Cohen. Everyone I’m sure knows Shaun T of Hip Hop Abs and Insanity. Dan Cohen is a trainer in PUMP and COMBAT. He is so funny and motivational. I wish he would do a training program with just him alone.
FFFC: How can readers learn more about your transformation and journey online (i.e. Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, etc.)?
VS: You can find me here:
