Featured Fitale – Shawn Blandford

 Shawn Blandford

My name is Shawn Blandford and my journey began on 9/30/15.  A less less than a year after recovering from breast cancer surgery. I had been battling obesity for over 10 years. I have been on every diet, and eating plan known to man, every pill on the market and prescription for weight loss, for years. I have seen doctors and physicians, to no avail.
I worked out daily, and yet I continued to gain weight. I began to struggle with depression over my continued weight gain. Nothing I did would facilitate weight loss. I made decision that I would go on my own, I stopped dieting and changed my eating habits completely. I cut out all sugar, gluten and dairy. I started walking only 5 minutes a day. When I started this journey I weighed 363 lbs.

I increased my walks every day by 15 minutes, and drank a gallon of alkaline water daily. I also set alarms on my phone, so I could eat 3 full meals and 2-3 snacks a day. I slowly but surely began to lose weight. In 9 months I had dropped 100 lbs. Today a little more than a year later, I’ve lost a total of 174 lbs. I never feel hungry, I eat protein packed meals.daily, and enjoy a healthy lifestyle. My weight-loss was a huge factor in my continued healing. I’m super grateful for Diatta and her page, dedicated to women’s health and wellness.
It was instrumental in my final push to be at my goal of under 200 lbs at my year mark.  The encouragement, insight, dishes and sound healthy advice is unlike any other. So here I am in all my glory. Healthy, still working out, and building muscle now.
Keep pushing ladies! GOD is faithful!

Shawn Blandford thumbs up for your effort and consistency.

I know a lot of people who plan to stick to their weight loss strategy but soon they just do not keep up to it. Your story is indeed inspirational.

Wish you best in the future.
