Read what I think about my Omega VRT350 Juicer.
Grrrr…..I crashed my blog and had to restore it. In the meantime I LOST one of my favorite product reviews to date this year (this ONE) so this is a REPOST. In the end I gave this juicer 9 out of 10 stars. Read why below.
I am so happy and pleased to be providing a product review of one of my BEST purchases this year to date. I purchased the Omega VRT350 Juicer and started making juice off the bat.
I purchased this back in September 2013 directly from the Omega website.
If you visit their site, they have a plethora of juicers available for sale but I have heard so many awesome things about their masticating juicer, I knew exactly which one I wanted to purchase.
This review will be sharing different facets of this juicer including price point, effectiveness, and cleaning and assembly.
Where To Buy:
Omega site: http://www.omegajuicers.com/
Bed, Bath and Beyond stores
Amazon: https://amzn.to/2K5IDum (affiliate link)
Features:
The Omega VRT350 Juicer is designed to be compact, contemporary and productive. The Omega VRT350 Low Speed Juicing System processes at 80 RPM, preventing oxidation and allowing juice to be stored for up to 72 hours without degradation.
It weighs 22 lbs (I know heavy right?) and runs on a 2HP motor. The auger is the main part that chews the product to extract the juice.
It is a heavy hitter! Yes this is a powerful machine! It also comes with a 10-year warranty. They stand behind their product.
It has a power button that can also be used to reverse the motor in the event something gets stuck. It doesn’t come with a recipe book but it does come with a cleaning brush you can use to clean bits of food out of the screen. It does have a rather small footprint so it doesn’t take up a lot of space on my counter.
I really like that!
One other feature I love is that it is not as noisy as my last centrifugal juicer. OMG – my last juicer sounded as if a plane was coming in for a landing. This one is quiet and doesn’t wake the entire house.
You barely hear it if the television is on. It takes its time to chew up the produce and since I am never in a rush I really really like the low noise volume.
Price point:
I purchased the Omega VRT350 Juicer which retails at about $379.99. Updated to add it now sells on Amazon for about $249.99.
I know that is a bit steep for folks on a budget.
This juicer is available at Bed, Bath and Beyond and you can use their 20% perpetual coupon which they always honor.
That helps defray the cost but it is still very costly.
Effectiveness:
When I first used this juicer I made a basic juice with apples, carrots and spinach. It juiced the apples and carrots great.
The spinach created foam.
I also juiced pineapple later and the strings got stuck in it a few times where I had to rewind the motor to back out the strings and start juicing again.
I have since juiced kale, beets, celery (with strings) and ginger. It does the job BEAUTIFULLY. I could also tell the taste quality of the juice was enhanced.
It does come out a little bit thicker so to speak. Almost like syrup but not gross thick. I do use a strainer to strain out bits of produce and foam. Did I also mention this juicer makes VOLUMES of juice?
The pulp is moist but NEVER wet because it extracts all the juice out of it! If I juice 5 apples, I will definitely need 2-32 oz mason jars.
I am dead serious!
Cleaning and Assembly:
At first I was totally clueless how to take the juicer apart and put it back together. I guess I should have read the guide but I was too excited and impatient for all of that.
I did figure it out eventually and the cleaning brush was very handy as it was very effective cleaning out the bits of food in the screen and shoots. You wash by hand in warm soapy water as soon as you can so the food particles do not dry.
I tend to fill the sink with warm soapy water and let the parts soak in there before I wash them so the food never dries. Putting the parts back together was easy as a snap.
They have red dots on the parts so you know how to line things up to make it as easy as pie to put back together.
Updated to add – as a shortcut I did place in the dishwasher – BIG MISTAKE. It will cause wear and tear on the parts so simply hand wash with warm sudsy water.
Recap of Pros/Cons:
Pros:
- Produces max amount of juice
- Quieter than many other juicers
- Easy to clean
- Easy to disassemble and reassemble
- Produces great juice quality
Cons:
- Doesn’t come with a recipe book
- A bit on the expensive side (look for bargains and use coupons when you can)
Rating:
Overall I give this juicer a 9 out of 10 stars. It would get a 10 but the price point prevents it from hitting that HIGH mark. But it is definitely a solid 9 because it does what they say it will do, it doesn’t make a lot of noise, they make it easy to take apart and put together and it makes VOLUMES of juice! A product that does what it says it will do? You gotta love that!

This juicer looks so much better than my Breville brand. That price is pretty steep but I bet like you said it gets the most juice out of your produce than other lower price juicers. Thanks for linking up at #ProductReviewParty!

Louida thanks for having me at your link up. This juicer is definitely a keeper I have to admit. I had a Breville and sold it to help pay for this one. Thanks for stopping by. #productreviewparty

Hubby bought a Jack Lalane juicer years ago…it’s with all the other appliances in the basement. We do use our Bullet so it has a spot in the kitchen. Great review!

I remember this post. My juicer is now collecting dust because I’m tired of taking it fully apart and cleaning it. I want to try out the Nutribullet, what do you think of it? Do you think it will juice raw fruits and veggies? #ProductReviewParty

Technically the nutribullet will blend the fruit and vegetables really good and if you want juice you would have to strain it.
