If you read my article yesterday about whether “To Eat or Not To Eat – That is the Question” before a workout, I stated I would do an experiment on myself and start eating a light snack before my workouts. Today was Day 1 of this experiment which consisted of cottage cheese and sliced pineapples.
The snack tasted very good and I ate it about 30 minutes before my weight training session with my personal trainer. In the middle of some burpees I had to take a little break because my stomach started feeling a wee bit queasy. Once I gathered myself I was able to finish. I didn’t experience the normal stomach growl in the middle of the workout like I usually do and I even felt more powerful on some of the weight-training exercises. Perhaps it was just a mind game for me. Not sure because today IS Day 1. I also noticed I wasn’t STARVED afterwards like I normally am.
That meant I was able to come home and get ready for work without trying to rush and cook eggs because I was ravenous. I’ll continue this experiment for another 2 weeks so come back and check out my results. I just may become a convert.
