With my busy schedule it has gotten even harder for me to eat on a regular schedule and stay full for a few hours while I go about my day. I realized that since I am constantly on the go, I needed healthy transportable food that can go with me. I recently found out about Plenti Greek Yogurt and figured it may be just the answer I was looking for.
I have always heard how greek yogurt has more protein than regular brands but the ones I tried really didn’t taste that great. Plus I was also surprised to find they were packed with as much as 18 grams of sugar. YIKES! I need a convenient food that won’t overload me with almost my daily allowed amount of sugar in a single serving.
Here enters Plenti Greek Yogurt. When I located it in the refrigerator aisle of my grocery store I immediately went to read the nutritional facts and was pleasantly surprised. Not only did it only have 12 grams of sugar (which sure beats 18 grams), it was packed with protein and was only 140 calories. For me that meant I could eat all 5.5 ounces of this and it will hold me over for a few hours until my next meal.
I was convinced and purchased the black cherry, vanilla (2) and strawberry. They do have other flavors like:
- Spiced apple
What also impressed me about the yogurt is that it comes filled with pumpkin seeds, flax, and oats. I really liked that because I was tired of having to purchase granola separately to sprinkle on top of my yogurt. Having everything already inside the yogurt just upped the convenience factor for me.
Even with all of that great stuff, the real test was going to be the taste and texture for me. One early morning I grabbed one of the vanilla Plenti Greek Yogurts and easily pulled back the tab to get to my yogurt. I stirred it up and put a spoonful in my mouth. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the yogurt light in texture, it was also very creamy. I could taste the flax, oats and pumpkin seeds because it made the yogurt a little chewy but it wasn’t obnoxious or “lumpy”. It was just right in my opinion.
One might think that this type of yogurt might be expensive but it was about $.99 per container at my local grocery store which priced it comparable to the other items on the shelf. I really loved the convenient price.
My plan is to eat a yogurt in the morning post-workout (I am really bad about eating within 1 hour of working out) and then again in the early afternoon as a snack to hold me over until dinner time. Due to the size of the container it comes in (which reminds me of a cereal bowl) 1 or 2 easily fit in my lunch box.
If you are looking for a greek yogurt that isn’t overly thick, has a smooth taste and texture and is packed with everything you would already put in your yogurt like seeds, flax and whole grain oats, then I definitely recommend you find and try Plenti Greek Yogurt. Just head to the refrigerated dairy aisle of your local grocery store and stock up.
If you want to learn more about Plenti Greek Yogurt or not sure which grocery store near you carries it go to their website and locate a store HERE. Also follow them on Instagram @PlentiYogurt and check out all the ways you can enjoy their delicious yogurt.
Which flavor do you like to try first?

I’m a yogurt freak, I mean I LIVE on specifically greek yogurt but sometimes get bored with my options or end up always making the same things. I’ll definitely try these out. Thanks 🙂

I’d probably try the strawberry first since I’m a huge fan of anything strawberry.

Deborah I must admit I do not like the texture of more traditional Greek yogurt but I love the texture of this one. It’s really creamy.

These look good! Did you find having the stuff mixed in already make it more soggy than if you mixed it in yourself? I used to LOVE Greek yogurt but can’t eat any dairy anymore 🙁 🙁

Great question – it wasn’t soggy just chewyz

I love this yogurt! I think the addition of the flax and pumpkin seeds make it stand out. Plus, love that it doesn’t have a ton of sugar like others!

Lora have you seen the sugar content in other Greek Yogurt? Geesh Louise!

I’m a big fan of Greek Yogurt, but you’re right about the sugar. I was surprised at how much sugar is in so many of them. I just guy the plain yogurt and top it with whatever I’m feeling that day so I can control the sugar a bit more.

That’s a great idea Chaitali.

I like that it comes with seeds mixed in! That’s smart! I usually buy plain greek yogurt because it’s lower in sugar and just add in a little extract or stevia to give it flavor.

Interesting. I’m not a huge yogurt fan, but I would try the cherry or strawberry.

Normally I buy Fat Free plain Greek yogurt and add my own flavorings to it… but this does look very good. Perhaps when we are in the U.S. next month I will have to look for it. Very nice review.
