Friday Five: Boot Camps

Boot Camps

My Friday Five today has to do with 5 boot camps I highly recommend.  I am constantly asked what would recommend for boot camps that deliver results.  Welp – wait no longer here is a post completely dedicated to the topic.  These recommendation are from personal experience or based on information provided to me by friends who have participated with these boot camps.  With that said – these are my own opinions so the only way to find out if any of these programs are for you is to research and try it out yourself.

This link up is sponsored by Courtney from Eat Pray Run, DCCynthia from You Signed Up For What? and Mar from Mar on the Run!  Their fitness and running blogs are amazing so make sure you head on over and check them out.

Now let’s get started.  These are in no particular order because I believe in variety and enjoy a bunch of different kinds of fitness activities.

1.  Sanders Optimum Fitness Boot Camp

If you have been reading this blog then you know I have been going to this boot camp since the Summer of 2012.  Monte Sanders runs this rigorous boot camp and he is the TRUTH!  He is the quintessential firm but fair coach.  He only wants the best from us and of us.  I have completely realized results from his camp.  Reduction in inches from around the waist, improved vitals (heart rate, glucose level, triglycerides, and blood pressure) and have become stronger and faster.  This boot camp is located in Owings Mills, MD at the Garrison Forest School for Girls.  Click on the photo to go directly to their site and learn more.  If you ever decide to come through hit me up.

2.  Hardbody Outdoor Fitness

Shawn Chevalier runs this dynamic boot camp and he is no joke.  The man exemplifies what he teaches and is tough as nails.  He is also my co-worker!  If you decide to try this program he will provide a 2-week FREE TRIAL if you mention you learned about his program from Femme Fitale Fit Club.  His program is located in Columbia, MD so if you are in the area – try it out.

3.  LiveNow Fitness

David Girton runs this intense boot camp and he and his team are serious business.  They have programs centered around fitness such as boot camps, triathlons, We Dig Green (green eating) and much more.  His team has mad personality and they make everyone feel welcomed.  They also have free sessions so check out their page and get on their mailing list.

4.  Believer’s Fitness Boot Camp

Coach Falcon is one of the nicest men you want to meet.  He runs this boot camp from a faith standpoint which I really like.  One of our Fitales actually participated in his boot camp from a Groupon she received and truly enjoyed it and saw results.  Something about him having her doing push ups…really made it worth her while.  LOLOL!!  If you know her she typically does not like push ups.  Click on the icon to learn more about his program.  He is located in Baltimore, MD.

5.  Extreme Fun and Fitness Boot Camp

My co-worker started attending this boot camp because she redeemed a Groupon and loves it.  The price is right, she is seeing results and feels the staff is very informative and friendly.  They are located in Carroll and Howard Counties.   Check them out and if you can, find a Groupon to realize some savings while you get fit.

There you have it.  My five recommended boot camps in the Maryland area.

Do you have a favorite boot camp?  Leave a comment with the name of it below.

I’ve only ever went to one bootcamp before. It was fun, but very pricey. I went several times but didn’t join as an actual member. My mom bought a membership though. Now that summer is coming it is easy to do a lot of those activities outside on your own too, so that’s what i’ll probably do. Thanks for sharing your Friday 5!

Great list! Even though these aren’t in my area the idea of trying an outdoor bootcamp sounds super fun. Thanks!

I was nervous at first but once you feel yourself getting stronger – you get more confident. I love the boot camp even though I complain about it. LOL. Thanks for stopping by Sami.

I’ve never tried a boot camp but it seems like it would be a great workout. I will have to look out for one in DC (and based on Active LIfe DC’s website I think there are tons!)

Your Sanders boot camp looks pretty hard core! I have never done a group boot camp before mostly bc they are at some ungodly hour outside!

Deborah – it is a challenge but trust me you get results. Monte is very nice. Tough but fair. He is used to training professional athletes so he doesn’t slack on them and he doesn’t slack on us. It’s like a second family now to me. NOW we do work out at 5:30 am Monday, Wednesday and Thursday BUT he has a second session at 6:30 pm for the evening crowd. I prefer the mornings. Thanks for stopping by.

Way cool! That looks intense, but a lot of fun. I have never done a boot camp, but I could see myself doing one in the future!

My favorite bootcamp was one taught by a good friend of mine. We both worked at a weight loss camp one summer and while she led the class I went around and helped ppl with modifications. Bets summer ever!!

Love boot camps! I have done a couple. My favorite one, Workout Like A Girl, moved too far away. I still follow her on Facebook though.

A couple of years ago, I attended a boot camp with a few friends and it was awesome. My timed mile time dropped over 1:30 minutes between the beginning and end of the boot camp! Hard, but fun.
