Kaylie Klitzing IFBB figure pro #ifbb

Please introduce yourself to our readers (i.e. your name, occupation, hobbies, etc.).

I am Kaylie Klitzing. I am an Ifbb Figure Pro and an Elite Powerlifting in the 123 weight class. My hobbies include working out, hiking (just about anything outdoors), baking, and helping other live a healthier and happier life.

I know that last one may sound funny or cliche… But it really is true. Once someone asks me a question about fitness and/or nutrition… I could go on forever.

What sparked your weight-loss transformation journey?

My weight-loss transformation is different than the average person. I have never actually been overweight.

I just wanted to be healthier and in better shape. I wanted to change the way my body looked, more than change the number on the scale.

All of this was sparked when I saw this girl in my gym who competed in bodybuilding shows.

I thought she looked so amazing… And I wanted to look like that.

What was your beginning and current weight or measurements?

I have always sat between 125-130 lbs. The heaviest I’ve been is 140.

And when I step on stage.  I am between 105-110 lbs.

Happy Hump Day! ————— I know! So cliche to post a butt pic on Wednesday! Lol. ————— Honestly… I have been contemplating posting this picture for about a week and a half now. I’ve always wanted to try an implied photoshoot. So I finally did it! & the pictures that @01ginomartino took are amazing! But of course.. WE are our own worst critiques. So when I look at my pictures… I can see all my flaws. There are no cute clothes to cover anything up. ————— But I always tell others to be kind to themselves. So I need to do the same! I work hard for my physique. So I will show it off & be proud!!!! All while still taking the steps to get better each day! ————— Don’t forget to contact @01ginomartino for a photoshoot! It does NOT have to be nakey!!!!

How long did it take for your weight-loss transformation from beginning to end?

I will generally diet for 16-20 weeks when I’m getting ready for a show. But I eat the same way year round.

The amount of food just changes depending on what season I am in (contest prep or improvement season).

Which physical activities did you participate in during your journey?

I absolutely love the gym. I am in the gym 7 days a week, doing something. Some days I just do cardio, but most days I will lift weights.

I am a bodybuilder and a powerlifter. So I will start my workouts with a heavy-compound movement, then move on to more accessory (lighter) exercises.

How did your eating habits change?

My eating habits changed a lot… And it all started in high school (this has been a long journey, and a complete lifestyle change). Let me explain.

My family is actually very unhealthy (sad face).  Which is actually why I decided to get into health and fitness. I didn’t want to live that way.

Eating fast food for every meal. Over indulging in cookies and ice cream every night (though I still love cookies and ice cream).

All the women in my family became overweight after high school. Family members were getting sick very often.

No one was physically active. Just not my idea of a happy life.

So I changed it. First I cut out soda. Then I started to eat more protein and veggies. And when I started lifting, I started to eat more often (frequent, smaller meals).

And now… It is just the way i eat. I don’t consider myself on a diet… Although to the average eye… I am always dieting.

But I like my “diet’ food. I like knowing that I am fueling my body with good, quality things. Plus, the better I eat, the better I perform, the better I look and the better i feel! Wins all around!

What do you typically eat for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner?

-Spinach and Kale

-Egg Whites

-1 Omega 3 Whole Egg

-Cauliflower Rice

-Toast

-Black Coffee

MEAL 2:

What is your favorite fitness activity?

My favorite fitness activity is definitely lifting weights in the gym.

What do you do now to maintain your physique?

To maintain my physique.. I follow my macros on a day-to-day basis.

I never skip a workout.

But I also make sure that I enjoy myself from time to time with family and friends. I just keep my goals in mind, and make healthy choices.

How did you develop and sustain the willpower to avoid the bad stuff (i.e. junk food, bad drinks, lack of activity, etc.)?

Having the willpower to avoid “bad” stuff is definitely a skill of mine. LOL.

But when it all comes down to it… I want to accomplish my goals more than I want to eat that cookie.

Plus, being a coach and gym owner… I want to set a good example for my clients and members.

If I can’t follow my macros and show good discipline, then how could I expect my clients and members to..?

What advice do you have for someone looking to get started with their fitness journey but not sure where to begin?

My advice for someone just getting started… START RIGHT NOW!

Don’t wait until tomorrow. Don’t wait until Monday.

Not the first of the month. RIGHT NOW! Also, be kind and patient to/with yourself.

Changing/creating new habits is hard. Changing your lifestyle is hard!!! But I promise it will be worth it!

What do you think is the biggest misconception about this journey?

I think the biggest misconception of this journey and this lifestyle is that it is miserable and boring. It is totally not that.

When you eat good, you feel good! And healthy food does not have to be boring and bland. Season it! Use sauces.

Mix it up! Get creative! 🙂

Do you have any fitness inspirations?  Who are they?

I have a lot of fitness inspirations. There are so many amazing women in both sports that I compete in.

But I think if I had to only choose ONE inspiration… It would have to be my husband, Tony Montgomery Jr. He is truly amazing!

I like to call him a unicorn. He is alway learning how to become better (as an athlete and coach).

He never misses a workout.

He is always on his macros. He never complains. And he is always working harder than yesterday!!!!

How can readers learn more about your transformation and journey online (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)?
