BEN aka BenDIESEL9OZ I’m a fitness enthusiast and currently I work in a hospital.
What sparked your weight-loss transformation journey?
Not feeling confident in my own body and also suffering from multiple issues due to being obesity ie sleep apnea, shortness of breathe.
What was your beginning and current weight or measurements?
Starting weight was 376 lbs and current weight is 260 lbs. Lowest was 245 lbs but I felt too skinny.
How long did it take for your weight-loss transformation from beginning to end?
The initial 130 lbs was 10 months but I’m going on 5 yrs of dedication.
Which physical activities did you participate in during your journey?
Weightlifting and cardio.
How did your eating habits change?
Drastically… I started to weigh my food, count calories and also macro-nutrients.
What do you typically eat for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner?
Usually breakfast is oats with eggs and some fruits. Snacks are typically protein shakes and dinner ranges as long as there’s a carb/ high protein.
What is your favorite fitness activity?
Legs as I used to the leg day
What do you do now to maintain your physique?
Stay active, eat right and also have fun while at it.
How did you develop and sustain the willpower to avoid the bad stuff (i.e. junk food, bad drinks, lack of activity, etc.)?
To be honest I usually incorporate some sort of “cheat” meal to keep my sanity as if I don’t I’m liable to binge.
What advice do you have for someone looking to get started with their fitness journey but not sure where to begin?
Get with someone who knows about this lifestyle and have them keep you accountable. It’s hard to go at anything when it’s only you.
What do you think is the biggest misconception about this journey?
That it can happen overnight. No magic formula here.
Do you have any fitness inspirations? Who are they?
I like old school bodybuilders like Arnold and Serge Nubret.
