How To Eat Clean + Interview

I had the pleasure to speak with Robin Marion of Velvet & Steel Fitness, LLC about the elusive subject of eating clean.  I remember when I first heard of eating clean.  It was 2008, I started working out with a new personal trainer and I was completely clueless about what it meant or how to eat in that fashion.

Fast forward to 2014 after reading Tosca Reno’s “Eat Clean” book I feel like I have a better grasp of what it is, and definitely what it isn’t.  Robin helped to further clarify this subject because I would dare say – many of us THINK we are eating clean but have no idea how poorly and nutritient-empty the food we are eating really is.

It was fun speaking with Robin and I am certain you will learn something new.  Here’s to your health!

You’re so right. It’s hard to determine that line about where eating clean is really clean based on whole foods. It’s good to have a refresher! Thank you. #wowlinkup

I had no clue what my trainer was talking about when she first said it to me.

Tosca’s book is great and I love the magazine too! Clean Eating is not that hard once you get the hang of it.

    Hi Diatta,
I just hopped by from #wowlinkup Workout Wednesdays to read your inspiring post and video on eating clean. I am committed to a clean, whole food, plant-based diet but I am always learning, tweaking and adjusting my diet because we are never in the same place healthwise. Our health, lifestyle and bodies change and we have be sensitive to our “current” needs. Thanks for hosting and thanks for featuring Urban Naturale. All the best, Deborah

It’s so funny that Tosca Reno also got you into clean eating 🙂 She was my first introduction when I picked up an airport magazine. I LOVE Clean Eating Magazine. Thanks again for the interview. I had to watch the replay, but enjoyed it!

Thanks for watching Catherine. I plan to do more including Taking Small Steps for Big Fitness Success and interviewing someone else on the topic: Fitness & Life Expectancy (Participant In 5 Year Women’s Study). Stay tuned.
