Change Things Up With Progresso Soup

Beat Diet Boredom with Progresso Lite Soup

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Progresso™ through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write a post about Progresso™, all opinions are my own.

Lately my family has been complaining about eating the same thing over and over.  I have to say being a busy mother of 2, managing her full-time career, as well as managing not 1 but 2 blogs sometimes it is just easier to fix the same thing over and over.  The same goes for how I pack their lunch.  In addition, I work at a place where they rotate the same foods over and over again week after week to the point I don’t want to eat the same thing week in week out.  So I understand my family’s complaints.

Since I don’t want my family to be bored or unhappy with the food I prepare for them I’ve come up with a few tricks of my own to redo old favorites so the family and I enjoy them like they are brand new – no more diet boredom!  If you are in the same boat as me and looking for ways to change things up when it comes to what you and your family eat for lunch and dinner check out my tips below.

Tip #1:  Start preparing your own food.  Honestly, my food tastes better than restaurant food and I know exactly what’s in it.

Tip #2:  If you are used to eating the same old sides, change things up for example, instead of a sandwich with chips, swap out the chips and try eating with Progresso™ Lite soup instead.

Tip #3:  Change up the scene and eat out at a different location.  You actually might find a new favorite healthy dish.

Tip #4:  Really razzle and dazzle them and make one of their favorite restaurant meals at home using one of the Progresso™ Lite soup’s delicious flavors.

Tip #5:  Get creative.  Pick up some cans of Progresso™ Lite soup in different flavors, take them home and get creative.  Remix one of your favorite meal recipes using one of the soup flavors you picked up.

I took my own advice and actually prepared a nice grilled cheese sandwich and Progresso™ Lite Savory Beef Barley for lunch with some fresh water.  Progresso™ soup has over 40 flavors at 100 calories per serving so you won’t be overloaded on calories.  The soup was easy to warm up, just open the can and pour into a pot and heat up in minutes.  No additional water was needed.  If you want your soup even quicker, you can easily transfer the soup to a microwaveable safe container, place in the microwave, warm it up on high for 2 to 4 minutes and voila it’s ready to eat.  Let me tell you – IT WAS GOOD!!!!!

Progresso™ Lite Savory Beef Barley

It has nice size pieces of beef plus a lot of vegetables and barley which I would pick up with each spoonful.  A single bowl of soup left me full for hours which is what I need to keep me going.

I don’t mean to pat myself on the back but give me a can of Progresso™ Lite soup and I can pretty much get creative with it.  And if I don’t feel like coming up with my own ideas, I can head right on over to the Progresso™ site where they have a ton of recipes.  That’s exactly what I did for dinner, I had a can of the Progresso™ Lite Creamy Chicken Alfredo soup and went to their site and decided to surprise my family and make the Easy Weeknight Chicken Alfredo dish.  It’s inspired by the Progresso™ Lite Creamy Chicken Alfredo soup.  They loved it!!

It doesn’t get any easier than that.  So get creative, change things up and beat the diet boredom.  And if you are also bored with your wardrobe (like me), Progresso™ is giving you a chance to make yours over.  Oh yes you can enter for a chance to win a wardrobe makeover for you and three of your friends, courtesy of Progresso™! Great tips! Sometimes I wish I could make one batch of too on Sunday and we just eat it until the next Sunday. Too bad my family doesn’t approve of that tactic 🙂

It has been a couple of years since I’ve eaten progresso soups. That reminds me I need to start eating it again. My meals during the weeks has been repetitive too and I need to start changing things up. #ProductReviewParty
