- increased blood pressure,
- a weakened immune system, and
- even heart disease.
It can also wreak havoc on our fitness routines. It can slow fitness progress, as well as recovery rates when exercising. From motor control to concentration, essential elements of an effective fitness regime are compromised when we’re too stressed.
Fortunately, there are a number of ways to reduce the impact that stress has on our lives and on our bodies. One extremely effective way to reduce stress is by taking a healthy, well-deserved nap.
This sounds simple, but the perfect nap is more elusive– and more valuable– than most people can imagine. Casper, the the sleep experts known for their foam mattress, have put together a ‘Napping 101’ guide to help emphasize the need for healthy sleep and the importance of a good nap.
Everything from the time of day to length of the nap matters when trying to get the perfect, and perfectly healthy, nap. Check out the guide below for more helpful tips on taking a nap that will take you through your day– and through your workout.
