#FitnessFriday – Love Grace Juice Cleanse Results

#FitnessFriday Weekly Workout Recap

I’m switching things up a little this week.  I want to share with you my experience on my 3-day Love Grace Juice cleanse.  I started it on Friday morning, 2/20/2015 and finished it on Sunday, 2/22/2015.

Day 3 Love Grace Juice How To Prepare What To Expect

Disclaimer:   I was provided a complimentary 3-day juice cleanse by Love Grace Juice to review.  As always 100% of my statements and opinions are my own.  This post also contains affiliate links which means if you click on a link and make a purchase I receive a small percentage of the sale.  It helps to keep the lights on around here.  Thank you in advance for your support.

My box arrived on Thursday and as soon as I got it inside the house I bust it open to check out the insides.

As you can see I quickly unloaded the juice boxes out of the box they arrived in and lined them up on the counter to inspect them AND to share a photo with you all.  Let me say the juices were tightly packed with frozen cold packs.  These juices were in no way gonna spoil in transit.  I liked that!

Here’s How It Works

Before I start with my review of each day let me share a little about how this works.  You go online here and order your juice cleanse.  They deliver across the United States so  just click away.  You can order anywhere from a 1-day to a 7-day juice cleanse. Plan to receive your juices the day before you want to actually begin your juice cleanse.

When the juices arrive immediately put them in the refrigerator to preserve them.  Each day you will drink 6 juices.  For the most part the juices stay the same but from day-to-day they change up a couple of the juices and I really like the variety.  The juices come with 2 postcards which explains how to drink the juice and which order during your cleanse.  It also shares some options if in fact you feel you need to eat something while on this cleanse.

Here are the juices you can expect:

  • 1 16oz Purify
  • 1 4oz Ginger Bomb
  • 1 16oz Super Cider/Longevity Tonic
  • 1 16oz Green Sunshine
  • 1 16oz Green Protein Smoothie/Chocolate Superfood Smoothie/Probiotic Smoothie
  • 1 16oz Restore

All of their juices are raw, organic, gluten free, certified vegan and kosher.  You don’t have to order a full on cleanse if you don’t want.  They do offer a la carte options, juice subscriptions and wellness programs.

Friday – Day 1

The first day went ok.  I just had to get used to not chewing which was different for me.  I really liked all of the juices they provided in particular the green juices (Purify and Green Sunshine).  The Ginger Bomb was like a bomb going off in my mouth because it is SPICY!!!!  Day 1 I didn’t finish my last juice and I did nibble on some pineapple chunks and strawberries (1 cup total) during lunch hour because I felt I needed to chew on something AND I was hungry.  Then around 9:30 pm my family ordered pizza and I just could not and did not resist the delicious smell so I ate 2 slices.  FORGIVE ME.  I swore to do better Day 2.  I did put everything in MyFitnessPal to track my calories and I drank/ate a total of 894 calories not including the 2 slices of pizza.

Total calories consumed:  894 calories

Saturday – Day 2

Love Grace Juice Day 2

I woke up and sprang out of bed.  I felt fine and did not feel jittery or weak.  I didn’t drink my first juice until about 9 am.  I went through the day pretty fine but I did hit a couple of rounds of hunger.  When that happened I just drank the next juice as instructed.  The Ginger Bomb was not as “strong” this time around but I think that is because I knew what to expect.  Purify was refreshing as always – I have to say even though it has coconut milk in it it has a slight nutty taste.  Very delicious.  The Chocolate Superfood was ok but it wasn’t as decadent as I thought it would be.  I tasted a slight aftertaste and I think it may be the maca that’s in it.  Not sure but I am also not a fan of bananas mixed with chocolate.  If you ARE..then you will love this one.

I did light housework all day including washing clothes, cooking and baking healthy oatmeal breakfast cookies.  I took a nap around 8 pm and woke up at 11 pm and was wide awake until 3 am.   According to MyFitnessPal I consumed 886 calories yesterday.  That includes eating 3 seedless grapes and 2 pieces of steamed broccoli florets.

Weight:  136

Total calories consumed:  886 calories

Sunday – Day 3

I made it to the final day of my juice cleanse.  I couldn’t believe it.  Honestly I couldn’t because I have never done a full-on juice cleanse before where I was not eating solid foods as any of my meals.  Granted I did cheat a little but even with all of that I never consumed over 1,000 calories a day.  NOW how do I feel?  I feel light, airy and have gotten used to just drinking juice.  Granted I did eat a 150 calorie egg muffin I prepared for breakfast this week plus 6 grapes but I still felt as if my body was given a break.

I didn’t run to the bathroom as much as I thought I would.  Surprised by that.  I also didn’t do a lot of exercise either because I didn’t want to wear myself out.  Would I do this juice cleanse again?  ABSOLUTELY!  I am actually planning when I will do it again – perhaps in 3 months RIGHT in the dead center of Spring.

Weight:  134.3

Total calories consumed

Final weight:  131.8

 Overall

I loved the juices in this cleanse.  I liked the fact they switched out some of the juices so you had a little variety vs. the same thing daily.  I also liked how fresh the juices taste.  As I mentioned in my videos, the green juices were my absolute favorite.  I give this juice cleanse a 9 out of 10.

Shout Out

I want to shout out LOVE GRACE FOODS for sending me a complimentary 3-day cleanse to try.  You can learn more about them on their Website/Facebook/Instagram/Twitter

Where to Buy

You can purchase their juices directly from their site HERE.

Recommendations

  • Plan for lower activity than normal.  So if you do Crossfit you may want to pass on it while on the cleanse
  • Do not plan this cleanse when you have a lot of things to do and you are ripping and running
  • Use this cleanse to give your body a break not necessarily to lose weight quick – you will pile the pounds back on after you start eating solid foods again

And before I go, I will be doing the Sanders Optimum Fitness Online Boot Camp starting March 2 – March 27 twice a day for $29 (that’s less than $1/day).  I would love it if you could join me.  I’ve worked out personally with each and every person in this photo below and they all put in WORK and these results are REAL!!!!

If you decide to workout with us simply sign up HERE and let’s keep each other motivated on Twitter and Instagram by using the hashtag #SOFMarch as we work our way through the daily workouts.  Trust me, it’s the best money I spend each month.  Let’s GO!

I am linking up with the lovely ladies of the #FitnessFriday Link Up (Britt from The Pinnacle Project, Danielle from Ok Dani, and KLP from SavingOurStrands) so check them out over at their blogs and pop in and join us and share your awesome workout week recaps.

I am so glad that you do these juice cleanses so I don’t have to!! 🙂 Glad it worked for you. I could never do all of this activity and not eat. Do you think the weight comes back over the next few weeks of normal eating?

Deborah I’ve not had a taste for the things I ate before the cleanse so I continue to make better choices. I expect the weight to come back on from eating solid food. I didn’t do it to lose weight though.

Interesting! I’m glad it helped you. I get soooooo lightheaded when I don’t eat, so I don’t think I could do it, but I was really curious how it would go for you. Thank for the recap.

Big ups to you! The most I’ve been able to do is a one day cleanse… I do however, add cold pressed juices to my normal diet

I’ve tried a few Love Grace juices before and they are delicious. I’ve never done their full on cleanse, though. I totally would have caved to the pizza, too!

Wow I want to do this! I’ve done cleanses before making my own smoothies. It fine and I feel good after, but I like the idea of more variety and not having to think about when to mix up next. When I’m not eating solid food, with the lack of concentration that comes with it, I just want to open my fridge and have my next juice ready to go.

I did a week long juice cleanse over the summer and it was an EPIC fail. I worked out too much, I had a lot of stuff going on and I really didn’t plan my juicing well enough. Ugh! It was a nightmare! I love the way that Love Grace has everything set up and ready to go for you. If I would have done this system, I probably wouldn’t have had such a miserable time!

Thanks for joining the #FitnessFriday movement chica!

Juice cleanses are hard. I’ve only done one 3 day and it was tough, but not as bad as I thought. It was a great way to reset some poor eating habits!

I tried to do a juice cleanse and failed pretty miserably. I would love to be able to do one in the future, but they just seem so hard, and I’m not nearly as active as you!

You can modify it so it works for you. If you need to tip toe into it that’s fine. Do what’s best for you.
