FFFC: Please introduce yourself to our readers (i.e. your name, occupation, hobbies, etc.).
CT: My name is Carolina Thomas, I am a house wife, and I enjoying walking, writing letters, and doing my hair and makeup.
FFFC: What sparked your weight-loss transformation journey?
CT: My journey began because of my high blood pressure and after my doctor prescribed medicine.
FFFC: What was your beginning and current weight or measurements?
CT: In Jan 2016, my weight was 168 and present is 145.
FFFC: How long did it take for your weight-loss transformation from beginning to end?
CT: It has takem me 8 months, but my goal is to get to 130.
FFFC: Which physical activities did you participate in during your journey?
CT: I started walking and hiking at my local trails.
FFFC: How did your eating habits change?
CT: I started replacing two of my meals with shakes, adding 2 snacks, and eating more chicken, fresh veggies and fruits.
FFFC: What do you typically eat for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner?
CT: For breakfast, I usually do an egg burrito with cheese stick, snack will include a fruit with some nuts, lunch will usually be a shake, snack will include a fruit and some nuts, and for dinner, I usually eat what I prepared for my family, but I eat less.
FFFC: What is your favorite fitness activity?
CT: I still enjoy walking and I do Leslie Sasone DVDs.
FFFC: What do you do now to maintain your physique?
CT: I still have one shake a day, eat my snacks, drink a lot water, and walk at least 4 days a week. I am currently doing the ab and squat challenge.
FFFC: How did you develop and sustain the willpower to avoid the bad stuff (i.e. junk food, bad drinks, lack of activity, etc.)?
CT: I don’t avoid it all together, but I will usually take one bite just to take the craving away.
FFFC: What advice do you have for someone looking to get started with their fitness journey but not sure where to begin?
CT: My advice is only drink water, shakes, or unsweet teas, eat more chicken, fresh veggies and fruit and exercise at least 30 minutes a day.
FFFC: What do you think is the biggest misconception about this journey?
CT: The biggest misconception about the journey is that people think it’s easy when it is so hard. It’s a life style change that one has to do and keep doing.
FFFC: Do you have any fitness inspirations? Who are they?
CT: My fitness inspiration is one of friends named Kita. She has lost so much weight. When we worked together, she kept me motivated, gave me great tips and ideas.
