Last week was a pretty good week for me – I worked out for 6 straight days. Well this week I had to skip working out Wednesday because I went to an after-work event Tuesday evening but before that I went to my boss’ house and she has cats. Well clearly, as I get older I am more allergic to multiple cats. I stayed at the event perhaps 1 hour and then left. I was coughing, my lungs felt congested and I started feeling as if I was coming down with something. BUT I will be back in the saddle again. TRUST ME.
Also, Thanksgiving hasn’t even hit but the sounds and smells of the holidays are clearly UPON US!! We figure we will just skip Halloween one day and go straight to Thanksgiving and Christmas – NOT!!!
Lastly, before I dive into my fitness week, POPSUGAR came out with their Holiday Must Have box!!! I am extremely excited because I love their subscription box and now you have an opportunity to give a gift that keeps on giving with monthly goodies inside. If you want to check it out simply click on the photo below. They are currently offering $5 off with promo code “CHEER” so consider this gift for that special person man or woman in your life.
Now let’s dig into my workout recap this week and since several of us can expect to feel a blast of cool air, I am featuring prAna gear this week so keep reading this post and go shopping while you’re at it cause you deserve it! 🙂
Saturday
I hit one of my only favorite local trails – NCR!!!! My running buddy and I met up at my home around 6:30 am – drove 30 minutes to the trail and hit it. We did take a few stops and walked a little along the way but it was a good workout and as you can see I burned some NICE calories. Plus I was rushing back home to see my mother off to New York before she left.
Monday
I was back on the pavement at 5:30 am with my running boo’s and boy did we put in work! We ran a little over 4 miles up hills, through office parks, up more hills and back to our cars. It was GREAT!!! This one particular hill makes me feel stronger when I run it more often. It is a pretty good gauge of my fitness level.
Tuesday
I hit Brick Bodies for some punishment a workout with Heather my personal trainer. This workout consisted of 5 moves BUT you are doing 11 sets and the reps increase each set and then they decrease back down. You have GOT to try it. This is a workout you can also do at home with some hand weights and a weight bench, step bench or chair. Try it and let me know what you think.

Wednesday
I was so sore from Tuesday and had such a stressful remainder of the day – I just slept in and skipped my early morning run with the ladies. BOOOOO I know.
Thursday
I was back at it with Heather my personal trainer and the ladies with another simple yet TOUGH workout. This goes to prove, you don’t need 100,000 moves to get an effective workout and to get your heart rate up. Again, a few simple moves (5) but it’s the reps that get ya. Try it and tell me how you like it. I also chomped on some FRS Energy Chews in Blueberry Pomegranate for extra energy but more on that in a future post.

Mine was a lot less active than yours lol.
Everytime I see your and other people’s updates with those polar watches, the shopper in me wants to buy one. I think I may ask santa this year.

Girllll—You put in work! I love this strength workout that your trainer put together for you. I\’m definitely going to try them out. I\’m running a half-marathon early next year and I read that strength training for 20 minutes helps runners to avoid injury. #woot
Thanks for joining the #FitnessFriday movement chica!

I am just trying to get in at least 30 minutes because after a long day at work, with a 3 hour daily commute, I can’t handle any more than that!

6 days in a row! Nice! I do a lot of 4/5 days in a row 🙂 Great week! Pop Sugar box is one I haven’t tried. Is it a monthly $10 box like Birchbox or more like the once a quarter box I get from Fab Fit Fun for $49?

Way to stay focused and motivated! I’m highly allergic to cats and an asthmatic and can relate to your experience. Not to mention all the leaves I’m allergic too is making me irritable and tired. However, I feel so much better after I work out! Keep at it!

Wow – great workout week! Those strength workouts look killer! My strength coach used to make me do pyramids too – I hated them, but boy were they ever good for building muscular endurance! Have a fantastic week Diatta!
