Please introduce yourself to our readers

Hi everyone ! My name is Mesha , but you can call me Meesh for short ! I haven’t always been the most in shape, but after having my daughter, my weight skyrocketed to 318 pounds.  I stand 5’10 and it was still a lot.

What sparked your weight-loss transformation journey?

After my daughter ran in the street and I was unable to catch her, I knew it was time for a change.

How long did it take for your weight-loss transformation from beginning to end?

I started out with a goal of wanting to lose 100 pounds , and currently I am 10 pounds away from that goal. 

The end of  2019 marks 5 years that I have been working through this.

With having to deal with a car accident and injuries as well as a 2nd pregnancy, it is taking me longer to reach my goal, but I am nearly there.

Which physical activities did you participate in during your journey?

In the beginning i was doing so much cardio , but eventually , my body got use to that . For some time now I have done mostly HIIT , weights with cardio maybe 2-3 times a week.

How did your eating habits change?

I intermittent fast 3-4 days out of the week (16:8) and I am currently transitioning into a plant based lifestyle. 

What do you typically eat for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner?

While I haven’t eaten red meat or pork in a year and half , I will occasionally have turkey bacon or a piece of chicken.

How did you develop and sustain the willpower to keep going?

It took many years to get the weight on, so I already knew coming into this that I would have to develop the mindset of the end goal.
 
The results and the changes to my health and energy are what kept me going this whole time.
 
Seeing myself in a healthier light, after spending the majority of my life being so unhealthy has been the biggest reward. The best part about it all is, I’m not even close to stopping !

What did you find to be the most challenging during this fitness journey?

The hardest thing to deal with is your own mindset . I went into this thinking i will lose 100 pounds in 1 year. Life takes over , and you have to deal with things as they come.

Having patience for the results is the biggest hurdle for me .
