My Goals for 2014

setgoalsIt’s that time of year where folks pledge to do bigger and better.  I am not immune to this movement as I have ideas and thoughts about how to make 2014 an even bigger and better year than last year.  See, for me bigger and better isn’t necessarily a physical size.  It is a statement for me that says I want to do MORE, be MORE to MORE people and live MORE.

I sat for a minute or 2 in silence and created my own set of goals for this year.  Resolutions are great, but I need tangible goals…SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time specific).  In other words, these goals can’t go on eons and eons.

I would like to share my 2014 goals with you and would love if you would leave a comment to share yours with me/us.

  1. Spend more time with God
    1. Read my bible daily
    2. Get more active in my local church
    3. Pray daily
  2. Spend more quality time with family
    1. Volunteer in their schools
    2. Stay active on the PTA
    3. Take them on staycations
    4. Take a family summer vacation this year
    5. Eat dinner at the dinner table Monday – Thursday
    6. Cook in more, eat out less
    7. Initiate family game night
  3. Increase my fitness
    1. Drink less wine
    2. Drop body fat by 13% to 20% from my current 33%
    3. Stay physically active a minimum of 5 days every week between weights and cardio
    4. Complete my first half marathon within 2 hours and 30 minutes
    5. Study for my personal trainer certification

There you have it.  It isn’t a long list and I definitely believe it is doable.  I have already started doing some of it before the new year even started.  Either way, 2013 has taught me that my family is extremely important to me and I allowed other things to take precedence which can not continue in the future.  My children are young (6 and 11) and need me.  I continue to devote time to this blog but I can’t continue to spend hours upon hours at work, checking work emails, etc. because it takes away from my children and they have started to notice and voice it to me. success

I plan to share my progress with you all – the good, the BAD and maybe even the ugly.  I think if you see a real person going through real things it will show you that YOU can do whatever you set your mind to.  It may not always be pretty but if I can do it you can do it too!

I am so happy to share my goals with you because not only can I not let me down, I don’t want to let you down either.

I would love it if you would leave a comment and share your goals.  We can help each other stay accountable.

Until next time – TOODLES!
