Find out what Victoria did to begin her weight loss journey to live her very best and healthy fit life.
Please introduce yourself to our readers (i.e. your name, occupation, hobbies, etc.).
Hi, my name is Victoria and I wanted to share my transformation in hopes of encouraging someone else to get started on their journey.
What sparked your weight-loss transformation journey?
My weight has always been a struggle for me. Being overweight my entire life, I used to hear all the time that I’ll never be “small” or “skinny” and for a while I believed it.
I even remember my doctor saying the same thing when I was a pre-teen.
After having my 2nd son, I decided I would start 2017 with a goal to lose weight. However, I let “obstacles” create excuses for why I kept falling off the wagon.
Every week was a “new week to start” for the first 6 months of the year. It wasn’t until June of 2017 that it hit me….I was tired of failing.
Getting it together
I FINALLY got it together when my oldest son’s weight became a concern with his pediatrician. I saw myself all over again and I wanted my boys to pick up healthy habits so they wouldn’t have to endure what I did growing up overweight.
I got so motivated that I went into a challenge with myself — to transform my body and ultimately my life!
Through trial and error, I figured out what worked for me. I began drinking green smoothies as meal replacements after reading about the 10 day green smoothie cleanse by JJ Smith.
I cut out white carbs (sugar, bread, pasta, rice), fried foods, alcohol, and beef + pork from my diet. I worked out 5 days a week doing a combination of strength training & cardio along and increased my water intake by drinking at least half my body weight (in oz) a day.
Now over a year later I’m down 130 lbs from my highest weight of 275 lbs!
Currently, I maintain my weight between 145-150 lbs.
There were many days where I was discouraged & depressed because of the process BUT I was not defeated! Once I changed my mindset from negative self-talk to positive, I began to enjoy the process.
Seeing others post their transformation also allowed me to stay motivated and encouraged because it showed me that it could be done!
This journey has given me so much more than a new body. It has given me a love for something that I NEVER thought I would fall in love with or become passionate about — Fitness!
Now I want to help others achieve their weight loss goals & live their best fit life too. I have even created a free guide detailing everything I did to lose the weight in the beginning which includes a 30 day sample meal & workout plan (link is in my IG bio @vickinosecrets).
I also post workout/healthy eating tips, exercise videos and motivation on my IG + Facebook pages @Victoria A to not only inspire others but keep me on track now that I’m in maintenance mode. After all, this is a lifestyle change.
This journey proved that while “man” can say one thing, God always has the last say. Nothing is impossible until God say it is and I’m a witness to it!
