I like hitting it hard at the gym. I am not one looking for lighter weights or a short number of reps. My trainer increases the weights on me and pushes me to trainer harder even when I don’t think my body will hold up.
As you can imagine such an intense workout can leave me sore for days on end if I don’t prepare properly. This is why it is important to recover from an intense workout in an effective way to avoid injury and to return to the gym stronger than ever to train harder the next day. What can I say – I believe in go hard or go home.
Tip #1: Get enough rest. When you lift weights and push yourself you develop small tears in your muscles and the beauty of it is that proper REST is what helps them recover and rebuild so they are stronger. My trainer has emphasized to me that working the same muscles every day and back-to-back is not optimal and could result in injury. Rest is excellent for recovery.
Tip #2: Feel the stretch. Just like you wouldn’t just jump in your car, turn it on and drive off on a frigid Winter day without warming it up first, you should ease your body into an intense workout so that you recover better and quicker. Stretching warms up the muscles and gets it ready to work and helps them recover better too.
Tip #3: Get some sleep. This is similar to Tip #1 but really emphasizes not just resting your muscles but resting your body. Your body repairs itself while you sleep and it essential for optimal body recovery so make sure you get at least 7 to 8 hours a night. Your body will thank you. Isopure Aminos is a perfect choice to help you get some shut eye as it contains L-Theanine for a nice calm and relaxing effect. Just what you need before bedtime and to get sound sleep.
Tip #4: Recover with protein. When you lift weights and your body and muscle are exhausted. It is essential you consume protein to build those muscles. Isopure Aminos is an excellent option. It contains tart cherry which is widely known to reduce inflammation and help with post-workout recovery. The L-theanine helps relax the mind and supports rest while the Vitamin C packs the antioxidants. This lean protein not only helps you recover quicker from your strength training session, it also helps support your future workouts by allowing you to train even harder.
I’m actually going to be lifting more weights in the up coming weeks because I am trying to develop these arms and shoulders of mine and Isopure Aminos in Cranberry Grape flavor is what’s going to help me get there. I’m taking it now and will come back on here to share with you the results and my thoughts on it but so far looking at the supplemental facts has me impressed. Check out the benefits below and it’s even gluten and lactose free.
