I can’t believe Summer is already halfway over. It seems like just yesterday the kids got out of school and were getting ready to head off to my mom’s for grandma’s summer camp. With the kids out of town it allowed me some time to get in some extra morning workouts simply because I did not have to rush home and get kids ready for school. That felt like my own personal vacation.
I have to admit though, after going to Mexico for 5 days on vacation, even though I worked out one day, I still feel like I fell off a bit. While I worked out 3 times this past week, my goal was 5 so I fell a little short there.
I am happy about restarting my M.B.S. Fitness Online Boot Camp by renowned trainer Monte Sanders. It is basically his in-person boot camp online. If you have enough room in your home to do push ups then this is perfect for you PLUS he reduced the price to just $14.99/month which means you get 5 online workouts a week for 4 weeks and then it renews and kicks off 4 new weeks. THAT is the most affordable program I have seen yet and honestly Sean T has nothing on him.

I hit the pavement again with my running mates of BGR! Baltimore. It was great to be back outside especially since the last time I ran with them was exactly 2 weeks prior. We did a loop that was a little over 3 miles and while I felt strong starting off, as you can tell by the orange in the graphic above from my Nike+ Running app, those final 2 hills KILLED ME! It was a struggle. Now mind you just a few weeks prior I ran through those hills and felt strong. That is what happens when you take off time from training.
I am going to get back on it though – no worries. I have a plan…a new Kiqplan to be exact. I agreed to try out the Kiqplan’s 5K and 10K training app. It’s a digital coach of sorts that helps train you up to successfully run and finish a 5K or 10K. I am still in the process of setting up the app and haven’t used it yet but I am hopeful it will be able to help me get back into it.
This app seems pretty powerful as it allows you to set targets to hit daily, contains food plans for optimal fuel, offers motivation and rewards to keep you going and has videos you can follow of exercises to keep your body strong so you finish strong. You guessed it, a full review is coming soon once I get to play with it a little more.

I hit Brick Bodies and worked out with my personal trainer Tuesday. I am still feeling that workout. We did 4 basic exercises but the reps is what got you. They were either 30 or 50 reps. It really depended on which exercise you were doing and we were supposed to finish 3 rounds in 30 minutes but I could only get through 2. It was hot in that gym. Here’s what we did and try it if you like. Just know I am not responsible for injury, loss of limb or life as a result of you trying this workout. Always consult a physician before starting any new workout program. This workout was designed specifically for me by my personal trainer based on my physical ability and fitness level.

I was sore from Tuesday’s workout, especially my rear end from those overhead abs to sit ups but I did turn on my laptop, headed downstairs to the basement and planned to restart the M.B.S. Fitness Online Boot Camp by Monte Sanders. It was abs city day so I did a quick 5-minute warm up on the treadmill and then was down on the mat to hit my abs from every which way but loose. In between we did jump rope intervals. It was intense and the sweat felt good because I knew I was working it out. I miss my SOF Family and working out with everyone in person but I am confident I will be able to work my schedule to get back there again.
That was my workout for the week. I was invited to join a Ragnar Relay team to help raise money for Girls On The Run, which is a very worthwhile organization, by Alexis of Flecks of Lex. I am considering it but in the meantime we are thinking about hooking up for a run in Maryland this weekend. Will keep you posted if that happens.
