How I used it:

Before you do anything with this scale you must install the 2, AAA batteries in the back of it.  Then it is easy breezy, simply place the scale on a flat hard surface (not carpeting or any other soft surface), push on it with your hand (do not stand on it yet) and wait for the LCD to light up and the letters “CAL” to display.

Once that’s done you are all set, your scale is ready for use.  Step on the scale and view your weight.  Step off, it will turn itself off.  Can’t get any easier than that.  No profile set ups, no additional bells and whistles – this is a basic scale.

Effectiveness:

This scale does what it says it does – calculates your body weight.  I compared the results of this scale to the results from my other scales (yes I have like 3 now – don’t judge) and the results were the same.  I did this multiple times throughout the week.  I stepped on with bare feet to get the best reading.  And what did I see staring back at me in huge numbers?  MY WEIGHT.  This scale is called MaxView for a reason – because the LCD screen is huge.  So if you are blind as a bat, like me, then this scale may definitely be for you.

Recap of Pros/Cons:

Pros:

  • Easy to set up
  • Comes with a measuring tape (nice little unexpected bonus)
  • No complex set up
  • No worries about setting up multiple profiles
  • Accurate
  • Easy to view LCD screen
  • Skid proof
  • Nice wide platform

Cons:

  • The scale has to be recalibrated if you pick it up and move it or if you have to replace the batteries.  No where near a showstopper because to calibrate is very easy but could render inaccurate results if the person fails to do so and try to use it as normal.

Rating:

Overall I give this scale a 10 out of 10 stars.  It’s simple and easy to use, comes with a bonus measuring tape, is accurate and the price point is very affordable.
