Get Your Activity On with EveryMove


The DietBet challenge has kicked off July 14, 2014 and now it is time for me to get SERIOUSLY serious and the EveryMove app is what is going to help me.  Not that I wasn’t serious before, but this time there is a pretty sizeable group of us participating and observing each other’s progress.  This has surprisingly become an added motivation to be diligent with this challenge.

As part of my plan I decided to be more disciplined and start actually better tracking my activity and nutrition and this is where the EveryMove app comes in. is on a mission to spread the health is wealth to millions of Americans who are investing in their health and offering up rewards for their good effort.

This app collects the activities from all of your other apps such as (Nike+, MapMyRun, Fitbit, MyFitnessPal, etc.).  I’ve been able to successfully sync up:

  • MyFitnessPal
  • Runkeeper
  • Strava
  • Twitter
  • Facebook

This app also has a patent-pending points system which accumulates the more activity you complete in your favorite fitness apps.

This point system actually translates activity from the various apps and into a common metric  which allows users the freedom to switch up their tracking devices and workouts and interact with friends, no matter how they choose to move.

I’ve already leveled up a few times and earned discounts on EnergyBits and Chia Bars which are definitely exciting incentives for a job well done with staying active.

You can also manually add your activity if you so choose.  Especially if you forget to use other exercise apps to track your activity (like I tend to do sometimes but I plan to get better with that *smile*).

The EveryMove app is a social app, so it allows you to invite friends to join and witness your activity for added inspiration and motivation.  Right now I only have 3 friends who has joined me on there but I plan to add more over time.  To add your pals you simply click on ADD  next to FRIENDS and the EveryMove app will synch up with Facebook, contacts on your phone or your friends from the other activity tracker apps you synched up with.

What I like:

  • There’s a host or rather hundreds of fitness tracking apps it syncs to so the options are endless
  • I like the point system and having the ability to level up
  • If I were able to build up my friend community – it seems to be a great way to spark friendly competition with your fitness buddies since it track points
  • It’s FREE

What could be better:

  • If I forget to hook up my exercise tracker I have to “remember” to manually add it which doesn’t always happen in a timely manner
  • I use Polar FT4 HRM to track my heart rate and it doesn’t sync up to that unfortunately


Overall  I give this app a 7 out of 10.  It  is a pretty good fitness app “hub” of sorts which can take your tracking activity and put it all in one place for easy review, point accumulation, etc.  I also really like the uniqueness of the feature of gaining points and getting tangible rewards for hard work well done.

    I’ve been on Everymove for quite a while now. I generally donate my reward to charity (they had a “Make a Wish $5 donation for a long time). Very few and far between, I was able to snag a $5 Amazon gift certificate, and I earned a couple shirts (and Everymove T and a nicer activewear one!) But lately, none of the other rewards have appealed at all (all require a purchase for something I wouldn’t really ever buy, even at a discount). I still need to look into some of the recent updates … I have my Fitbit hooked up.

      I noticed the same thing JenB – I saw discounts for things I haven’t tried yet so I do not know if I want to try them even with a discount. Took some getting used to but I am finally getting the hang of it. The donation to charity seems like a GOOD thing. Staying committed to helping others while you get fit – I LIKE IT.
